  • Aspirants in the final year of their study or waiting for the result are not eligible.

Eligibility for IBPS’s Bank Clerk Recruitment in 2016

When IBPS announced the Clerk Exam in 2012, the minimum eligibility for applying Clerk Recruitment was Pre-Degree or +2 with 60% marks. The latest requirement as of 2016 is a pass in the degree course.

The relaxation benefit is cumulative, up to one additional category. That means, for example, a widow with a disability applying for IBPS exam is eligible to get a relaxation of 19 years (9+10) in the upper age limit. However, she cannot claim the benefit of any other category.

Other requirements:

Computer Literacy. Candidates must have studied computer as a subject in school or degree level; the remaining people have to provide a certificate to prove their proficiency.

Candidates should be able to read, write and speak the local language of the State from which they are applying for the IBPS Clerk Exam.

The IBPS PO Recruitment from its inception has “pass in degree” as the eligibility condition. Graduates from all discipline can register for IBPS Bank PO exam, and there isn’t a percentage requirement.

To date  IBPS has organized 5 PO exams, and the most recent exam was during October/November in 2015. The online registration for this exam ended on 01-08-2015. As of now IBPS has completed the Preliminary and Main Exam phases of this recruitment and recently they published the scores secured by the eligible candidates appeared in the Main Exam.

When is the next IBPS Clerk exam in 2016?

When IBPS started managing the Clerical Cadre exam in 2011, the minimum eligibility for a participating candidate was a pass in 10th Class. People from all sorts if life, even engineering graduates applied for the exam and ultimately the agency received around 50L registrations. The trend continued in successive exams although the education and age norms have had changed a bit in the course. The Clerk Exam is comparatively easy for the higher-educated: if they could crack this exam, they have the opportunity to advance to the PO and managerial levels within the institution- they are also entitled to get age-relaxation in PO and RRB exams, subject to the rules.

IBPS finished the web-based application process for the Clerk Recruitment 2015 on 1st day of September. Candidates have already appeared in the preliminary exam and are now being shortlisted for the Main Exam. The Interviews and the final placement would be carried out by April 2016.

Schedule of the IBPS RRB Recruitment in 2016:

IBPS RRB exam is your gateway to around 60 plus Gramin and Rural banks in India. Unlike the PO, Clerk and Specialist exams, IBPS has no direct role in the final enrollment of a candidate to the regional banks, although they manage the exams and interviews for the RRBs. IBPS conducts the RRB recruitment to the post of Office Assistants ( Clerical position), and Officer Scales 1, 2, and 3 in every year and releases a scorecard. The RRBs use this score for filling job vacancies, for one year from the date announcement of result.

Status of the last IBPS RRB recruitment in 2016.Final results announced.

RRB is one of the IBPS recruitment categories which do not have the “preliminary exam” phase. Those who got selected in the RRB Recruitment 2015 are awaiting for their appointment order.  Candidates in the waiting-list are eligible for applying all the Gramin Bank vacancies in 2016.

Notification for the next IBPS  Rural Bank Exam would be released in August 2016.
